105 Indians, 37 NRIs among nearly 400 missing after Nepal floods near Tibet border

KATHMANDU, AUG 26: Nearly 400 people, including 105 Indians and 37 NRIs, are missing after severe flash floods hit Nepal’s Rasuwa district near the Tibet border on Wednesday, officials said.

The sudden rise in the Bhote Koshi River affected Rasuwa, Dhading and nearby areas, leaving at least four people dead and causing widespread damage to villages, roads and hydropower projects.

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 384 travellers, including 291 foreigners and 93 Nepali nationals, remain unaccounted for. At least 59 Indians among the missing were travelling for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
