DHARAMSHALA, Sept. 18: The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile on Friday rejected a proposed amendment that sought to revise the composition of its Standing Committee by introducing representation from parliamentarians representing Tibetans in North and South America; Europe; and Australasia and Asia, excluding India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
The amendment sought to revise Article 42 of the Charter of the Tibetans in Exile, which governs the composition of the Standing Committee, the parliamentary body responsible for carrying out legislative functions when the house is not in session.
