(TibetanReview.net, Aug22’26) – An Australian Senator has on Aug 20 called for targeted sanctions against Chinese leaders responsible for carrying out transnational repression against Tibetans and others under Beijing’s recently enforced Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress. This law on forced assimilation of Tibetans and other ethnic minority groups in the People’s Republic of China includes provision to punish those, whether within or outside the country, who oppose or criticize its implementation.
