We sat down with Dr. Tsewang Dorji Jeshong of the Tibet Policy Institute to look beyond the headlines and understand the historical, political and strategic significance of these traditional trade routes, their importance to communities living along the Himalayan border, and what their reopening could mean in the broader context of India-China relations and the India–Tibet frontier.
