China failed to alert Nepal, tightens media coverage, as another flood threat looms

(TibetanReview.net, Aug28’26) – China says more than 1,050 people have been evacuated from Tibet’s southern border port town of Kyirong amid fears of another major flood disaster while none of the 558 people missing during the Aug 26 morning flash flood, caused by a glacial collapse and massive debris flow, has been reported found or rescued so far. Besides, it is reported to have tightened grip on media coverage of the disaster.
