On the eve of the 49th day since Tibetan self-immolator Lobga Rangtsen died after setting himself on fire in protest for the Tibetan nation and people, his nephew and niece, accompanied by a delegation from the Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) led by former TYC president Tenzin Jigme, met with Riley Barnes, the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues. During the meeting, they briefed Barnes on Rangtsen’s sacrifice, his final message and the circumstances surrounding his death. The delegation also called for continued US support for the Tibetan cause and greater international attention to Tibet.
