Born in Hanle, Ladakh, Tenzin Rabten belongs to the second generation of Tibetans in exile. In this episode, he reflects on growing up in the Tibetan exile community and the profound influence of his father, who dedicated his life to serving others. Traveling across the Changthang region to deliver Tibetan newsletters, his father instilled in him the values of compassion, service, and responsibility—lessons that shaped the course of his life. Tenzin also shares how the first generation of Tibetans in exile carried an unwavering hope of one day returning to a free Tibet. Although that dream became more distant with time, they continued to encourage their children to preserve their identity and serve the community.
