A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the Tibet region late on Thursday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 10 kilometers in northern Tibet, GFZ said. The epicenter was hundreds of miles north of the regions of Nepal and China that were hit by a devastating flash flood on Wednesday that killed hundreds and left more than 1,000 people missing.
