Hundreds of foreign tourists are feared dead following flash floods that tore through villages on the border between Nepal and the Tibet region, killing 165 people.

Thirty-three British tourists, including a 13-year-old girl, are believed to be among the hundreds of people who went missing on Wednesday in the catastrophic flood caused by a glacial collapse in the Himalayas.

Nearly 1,500 people, including almost 800 foreigners, are missing across Nepal and China's Tibet, authorities said on Thursday. China’s state broadcaster CCTV reported foreigners were among 550 missing in the Tibet region’s Gyirong County near the border, and at least three dead.
