KATHMANDU -- Nepal has protested against India's decision to reopen a Himalayan pass leading to a revered Hindu pilgrimage site in Tibet, reviving a territorial dispute between the two neighbors.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- From its first gurgles in the mountains of Tibet, the Mekong River winds its way for more than 4,000 kilometers through China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. It then splits into nine channels in a region known as Cuu Long (Nine Dragons) to the Vietnamese, and "the rice bowl of Vietnam" to outsiders.

HAMBURG, Germany - A human rights group is conducting workshops in Switzerland to help the country's Uyghur and Tibetan communities deal with attempts by agents of China to spy on, coerce or intimidate them.

Tokyo -- Carlsberg has agreed to divest from a brewing joint venture in Tibet after two decades, following years of confrontations and complications with its Chinese partner.
